Baked Apples Recipe

This baked apples recipe turns simple fruit into a warm, cozy dessert that tastes like fall in every bite. Easy, comforting, and perfect with a scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients
  

4 large apples, about 1.8 lb or 800 g, cored

3 tbsp unsalted butter, 42 g, cubed

1/4 cup brown sugar, 50 g, packed

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Pinch of salt

1/4 cup water or apple juice, 60 ml

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F or 190°C and place cored apples upright in a baking dish.
    Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, then fill each apple cavity.
    Top apples with butter cubes and pour water or juice into the dish.
    Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    Remove foil and bake 20 to 30 minutes more, basting once, until apples are tender.
