
1 3/4 cups water
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
Soak the rice in fresh water for 20 minutes, then drain well.
Heat olive oil or butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add rice and stir gently for 30 seconds.
Pour in water and add salt, then bring to a gentle boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, rest covered for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork, and serve.
