Cavatelli Pasta with Broccoli: Authentic Italian Comfort in 30 Minutes

Ingredients
  

12 oz cavatelli pasta

4 cups broccoli florets

3 tbsp olive oil

4 cloves garlic

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup reserved pasta water

Salt

Black pepper

1 tbsp lemon zest

Instructions
 

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta.
    Add broccoli during the last few minutes of cooking.
    Reserve some pasta water and drain the rest.
    Heat olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant.
    Add red pepper flakes and a splash of pasta water.
    Toss in pasta and broccoli and mix well.
    Stir in Parmesan until creamy.
    Season and serve warm.
