French Almond Cookie Bars (Soft Buttery Easy Egg-Free Recipe)

Soft, buttery almond bars that taste like they came from a French bakery. This easy egg free recipe is perfect for a quick elegant treat at home.

Ingredients
  

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons almond extract

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon baking powder

¾ cup almond flour

2–3 tablespoons milk

¼ cup sliced almonds (optional)

Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9-inch pan with parchment paper.
    Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add almond extract and vanilla extract, mixing well.
    In a separate bowl, whisk flour, salt, baking powder, and almond flour.
    Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined.
    Add milk gradually until dough becomes soft and spreadable.
    Spread dough evenly into prepared pan and top with sliced almonds.
    Bake for 20–25 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
    Cool completely before slicing into bars and dusting with powdered sugar.
