Frosted Gingerbread Brownies

These Frosted Gingerbread Brownies are soft, rich, and packed with cozy holiday spices. One bite and you will want to bake them every winter.

Ingredients
  

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

¾ cup brown sugar

¼ cup molasses

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp ground cloves

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

½ tsp vanilla extract

1–2 tbsp milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
    Whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
    Add molasses, egg, and vanilla extract and mix well.
    In another bowl combine flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
    Stir dry ingredients into wet mixture until fully combined.
    Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
    Bake for 18–22 minutes until edges set and center remains slightly soft.
    Cool brownies completely before frosting.
    Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
    Add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until creamy.
    Add milk gradually until frosting becomes spreadable.
    Spread frosting over cooled brownies.
    Slice into squares and serve.
