Italian Nut Roll Cookies

Italian Nut Roll Cookies are the perfect mix of flaky pastry and sweet nutty filling. A timeless treat that feels homemade and special every time.

Ingredients
  

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

1 ½ cups finely chopped walnuts

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup milk

1 tbsp honey

½ tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs and vanilla, then mix well.
    Combine dry ingredients and add to the dough.
    Chill dough for 1 hour.
    Cook filling ingredients until slightly thickened, then cool.
    Roll dough into thin rectangles.
    Spread filling evenly over dough.
    Roll into logs and slice or shape.
    Bake at 350°F for 15 to 18 minutes.
    Cool and dust with powdered sugar.
