Maraschino Cherry Frosting

Ingredients
  

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup maraschino cherries, finely chopped and drained

2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk, as needed

1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Beat softened butter until pale and fluffy in a large bowl.
    Add powdered sugar gradually, mixing well after each addition.
    Mix in vanilla extract and salt until smooth.
    Fold in chopped maraschino cherries.
    Add cherry juice slowly, mixing until desired color and flavor develop.
    Adjust consistency with cream or powdered sugar, then whip briefly until light and fluffy
