Perfect Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

These red velvet crinkle cookies are soft, fudgy, and impossible to ignore. One bite and they become your new go-to holiday cookie.

Ingredients
  

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon red food coloring

1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
    Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Mix in eggs, milk, vanilla, and food coloring until smooth.
    Stir dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined.
    Cover and chill dough for at least 2 hours.
    Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets.
    Roll dough into balls and coat generously in powdered sugar.
    Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until cracked and set.
    Cool briefly, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
