Red Velvet Cake Roll

Soft, swirly, and bakery beautiful, this Red Velvet Cake Roll looks impressive but is surprisingly easy. Every slice delivers creamy filling and rich red velvet flavor.

Ingredients
  

3 large eggs, room temperature

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon white vinegar

2 tablespoons red gel food coloring

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup heavy cream, cold

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan with parchment.
    Beat eggs and sugar until thick and pale.
    Mix in oil, vanilla, vinegar, and food coloring.
    Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
    Spread batter evenly in pan and bake 10 to 12 minutes.
    Turn hot cake onto powdered sugar dusted towel and roll to cool.
    Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until fluffy.
    Unroll cake, spread filling evenly, and reroll gently.
    Chill at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
