Sausage and Peppers Recipe

Juicy sausages meet sweet, tender peppers in this easy Sausage and Peppers Recipe. Perfect for a weeknight dinner that feels special in every bite.

Ingredients
  

1 lb. Italian sausage links, sweet or spicy

2 red bell peppers, thinly sliced

2 yellow bell peppers, thinly sliced

1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 large onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

¼ cup chicken broth or white wine

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Slice all bell peppers and onions evenly. Mince garlic and set aside.
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear sausages 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove from pan.
    In the same skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers 5–7 minutes until soft. Add garlic, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; cook 2 more minutes.
    Return sausages to skillet. Add chicken broth or wine and scrape up browned bits. Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes.
    Remove from heat, sprinkle with parsley, and serve hot on sandwiches, pasta, or rice.
