Simple Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Tart

This dark chocolate pumpkin tart tastes rich, smooth, and just fancy enough to wow. One slice and everyone asks for the recipe.

Ingredients
  

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

1 large egg yolk

1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 cup heavy cream

4 oz dark chocolate, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Pinch of nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch tart pan.
    Mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly, then add egg yolk.
    Press dough into pan, prick with a fork, and chill for 15 minutes.
    Bake crust for 15 minutes and cool slightly.
    Whisk pumpkin, brown sugar, eggs, cream, vanilla, and spices until smooth.
    Stir in melted chocolate gently.
    Pour filling into crust and smooth the top.
    Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until edges set and center jiggles slightly.
    Cool completely, then chill before slicing and serving.
