Ingredients
  

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups hot water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and pour melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
    In a bowl, mix flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
    Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth.
    Pour batter over butter without stirring.
    Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over batter.
    Pour hot water evenly over the top without mixing.
    Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and set.
    Rest for 10 minutes before serving warm.
