Spritz Cookies Recipe

Holiday spritz cookies have never been easier. Try this buttery classic that presses beautifully and tastes as good as it looks.

Ingredients
  

1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

2 1/4 cups (270 g) all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt

Optional colored sugars or sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    Beat butter and sugar until light and creamy.
    Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract and mix until smooth.
    Whisk flour and salt and add to the wet mixture to form a soft dough.
    Load the dough into a cookie press and press shapes onto an ungreased baking sheet.
    Decorate with colored sugar if desired.
    Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden at the edges.
    Cool for 2 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a rack.
