Tuna Macaroni Salad Recipe

A chilled bowl of tuna macaroni salad is the perfect mix of creamy, crunchy, and satisfying. It is the kind of simple, nostalgic dish everyone loves bringing to the table.

Ingredients
  

2 cups (250 g) elbow macaroni

2 cans (5 oz or 142 g) tuna, drained

1 cup (150 g) frozen peas, thawed

1 cup (120 g) diced celery

1/2 cup (60 g) diced red onion

1 cup (240 g) mayonnaise

2 tbsp (30 ml) sweet relish

1 tbsp (15 ml) Dijon mustard

1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice

1/2 tsp (2.5 g) salt

1/4 tsp (1 g) black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cook the macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and rinse under cold water.
    Flake the drained tuna with a fork and dice the celery and red onion.
    Whisk together the mayonnaise, relish, mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
    Add the cooled macaroni to the dressing and stir gently.
    Fold in the tuna, peas, celery, and onion.
    Chill for at least one hour before serving.
    Stir, taste, and adjust seasoning as needed.
